Dr. Jim Bennett
Dr. Jim Bennett is no stranger to the dance floor: “I have always enjoyed dancing and decided to participate in Dancing with the Stars at the urging of last year’s winner, Susan Thornes. I also felt this was an excellent way to support one of our community’s most important groups, the Redlands Symphony.”
Dr. Bennett has been a practicing medicine for 30 years and is currently a physician with Beaver Medical Group. He grew up in Long Beach and moved around the country extensively before settling back in southern California in 1981. He moved to Redlands 20 years ago where he raised four children while living in one of Redlands’ historic homes. Three of Dr. Bennett’s children attend colleges in southern California and his youngest, Davis, still lives at home and attends Redlands High School.
Jim has been a member of the Redlands Country Club since 1994 and his main hobby is playing golf. He also enjoys skiing and does a little woodworking when he can find the time, making craftsman style furniture and working on his house.
Dr. Bennett is already working with an instructor from Shake It Up!: “My first idea was to do a lindy hop which is in my comfort zone. But my teacher persuaded me to stretch, so I’m attempting to learn how to tango. They say it’s never too late to learn!”
